About this event

In this class Rick will teach the techniques of faceplate turning, on the lathe mortise and tenon joinery, and skew based spindle turning.

The first turning is the base which is turned and then drilled through while on the lathe.  The second turning is the bowl-like dish which is reversed after drilling the mortise to remove any indication of holding.  The center spindle is turned last so that the tenons can be perfectly fitted to the mortises.

This project can be turned with simple lines or with more elaborate details, depending on the desire and ability of the turner.  The three-piece candy dish class is for turners of all skill levels.
